How to Play
Students play this game individually.
Two sentences are shown on the screen.
Students have 10 seconds to choose one sentence by either standing up (pink) or sitting down (green).
When the timer goes off, students can't move.
The teacher will then reveal the winning sentence (+ points) and losing sentence (- points). (Usually, I have students read both sentences or the sentence they chose before I reveal the winners and losers.)
Students mark how many points they got on their sheet and those who lost have to write the sentence as well.
See the notes sections in the PowerPoint for a more detailed explanation if needed.
For the online/Zoom version of this game, students can just write the sentences and keep track of their score in their notebook or on a piece of paper instead of using the game's provided writing sheet.
No runtime information has been submitted yet for this number of students. If you have used it with your students and would like to share how long it took to play, please fill out the form on the last tab. It would be very much appreciated and would be a big help to other teachers like you!
